Intermediate Acting
for Film & Television

Time: Sundays 2:30 PM–5:30 PM • 4 Weeks • $369 + HST • 8+ Months Prior Training ⚠️ 1 Spot Left

Intermediate Acting for Film & Television is an advanced development class for actors with approximately 8 months of prior training. It builds on the work developed in the earlier levels and takes actors deeper into on-camera scene study, character development, script analysis, movement and performance for film and television.

Full Details

A progression and advancement of the work built upon in the Level Classes. Working on Camera, specifically with Walter Alza's technique tailored for film and TV and using some elements of the Meisner technique, Stanislavsky method, and Chekhov.

Continuing to find higher levels of connection in the text and the character in challenging scenes and scenarios. Learning scene study within the language of the director/actor relationship: what the director wants and needs and how to bring that. Working with more detailed aspects of biomechanics and movements mimicking the on-set experience.

Honing finer points of direction and execution, taking risks and having faith in your work and abilities to do so. Continuing to apply key skills and techniques in preparation for auditions, rehearsals, and on-set performances, and delivering the best performance in all three situations. “Keeping it Real on camera.”

In addition to covering an introduction to movement and voice for on-camera work, this class teaches you how to:

Break down scenes and monologues from theatre, film and television script

Make strong choices in interpreting lines
Understand tempo rhythm, its meaning, purpose and application
Train the body for scenes

Review progress on a large screen
