Walter Alza – Award-Winning Actor, Director, Writer, Producer, Acting Coach

Walter Alza is a multi-talented and award-winning artist with a career spanning over 30 years. Known for his versatility, he has successfully portrayed both leading and character roles in over 40 films, television series, and movies of the week. He has garnered acclaim for his remarkable ability to effortlessly switch between drama and comedy, and for his talent in picking up diverse accents. Walter’s work has earned him rave reviews from international media in the USA, Canada, and beyond.

Walter’s career highlights include his guest appearance on *Flashpoint*, where he portrayed Paul the mob boss. He also made an indelible mark in the 50 Cent-starring drama *Get Rich or Die Trying*, where he played the vicious Colombian gangster Raoul, a performance praised by *Entertainment Tonight Canada*, which called him a “scene stealer.” *The Globe and Mail* lauded Walter for his portrayal of Slavic, a testosterone-driven waiter, in *At The Hotel*, a 7-time Gemini-nominated CBC series. Walter is also recognized for his role as the modern Don Juan, Andreas Maradona, in the long-running *Metropia*, where he portrayed a suave ladies’ man showed on tv for 10 years on OMNI TV on over 90 episodes.

An industry veteran, Walter was the first male Latin/Argentinean/Canadian actor to star in a series in Canada. His performance in *Metropia* revolutionized casting in the country and highlighted his ability to perform under intense conditions, shooting up to 23 pages a day.

As a Director/ Producer/ Writer

Walter’s filmmaking journey includes directing and producing *Clive Houston, We Have a Problem*, which won the Best Foreign Film Award at the 2010 Nevada Film Festival. His other notable works include *Redemption, Tears and Trains*, which received critical acclaim, and *Open Your Eyes Katarina*, which premiered at the Ireland International Film Festival in 2010. Walter's passion for storytelling has led him to continue producing work that entertains and informs on a global scale.

As an Acting Coach 
Walter opened Alza Acting Studio in 2005 to share his knowledge and expertise with aspiring actors and professionals alike. He has coached thousands of students both in-person and remotely, helping them land roles in major Canadian TV series, films, and commercials. His former students have gone on to win awards in Canada and the USA.
