WHAT TO EXPECT
IN THE ROOM

Every Saturday session is hands-on, on your feet, and on camera. No long lectures. No sitting. You work. You get filmed. You watch it back. You improve.

1

Immediate Camera Exposure

You step directly in front of the lens on your first session. There is no waiting period. You learn to balance frame awareness, lens mechanics, and the physical dynamic of a live production environment from your very first setup.

2

Dynamic Rehearsal Blocks

You are assigned real scripts and work closely with scene partners. Under rigorous professional parameters, you test choices, alter rhythms, and execute the scene repeatedly until the behavior reads authentically on screen.

3

Large Screen Playback Review

Your on-camera takes are instantly projected onto a large HD review screen. You analyze exactly what the camera is seeing. This close technical inspection is the fastest way to drop bad habits and identify real strengths.

4

Zero-Ego Studio Culture

The standard is elite, but the culture is family. We operate a fully supportive, high-stamina room where actors are encouraged to make mistakes, test extreme boundaries, and surprise themselves safely.

WALTER ALZA

Walter Alza is a multiple award-winning actor, director, producer, and coach with over 30 years of experience in film and television. He is not someone who studied acting and then started teaching. He is someone who lived a full professional career on screen — and built Alza Acting Studio to pass that knowledge on.

Why He Teaches The Intro Class

Walter has said it himself: the beginning is where the craft is set — or broken. The habits a beginner develops in their first class are the habits they carry for years. That's why the Intro class at Alza is not handed off. The Walter Alza team personally ensures every new actor starts with the right foundation.

Train with industry professionals who have real screen credits. Secure your spot today.

Beginner Acting Classes for Film & TV in Toronto

If you're searching for beginner acting classes in Toronto, the most important decision you'll make isn't which class — it's which foundation. The habits and techniques you develop in your very first acting class will shape everything that follows. Start wrong and you spend years unlearning. Start right and every class you take after builds on something real.

The Intro to On-Camera Acting class at Alza Acting Studio is built specifically for this moment — your first real contact with professional film and TV acting training in Toronto. Not theatre. Not improv. On-camera, for film and television, in a professional studio environment.

No Experience? That's The Point.

The Intro class is designed for complete beginners. You don't need to know anything. You don't need to have done anything. What you need is the willingness to show up, get on camera, and do the work. Walter Alza and his team will handle the rest.

  • Intro to acting class Toronto · Saturdays 11am–2pm · 4 weeks
  • $299 + HST · No experience required
  • Multi-camera HD · Large screen playback

How to Start Acting in Toronto — The Right Way

Every working actor in Toronto started somewhere. The difference between those who built careers and those who didn't is usually not talent. It's training. Consistent, professional, on-camera training from people who have actually done what you want to do.

What Makes Alza Different From Other Acting Schools

There are acting schools in Toronto that teach theatre basics and call it film acting. There are studios where beginners are put in large groups with minimal individual attention. And then there is Alza Acting Studio — where every beginner is filmed from day one, reviewed on HD screen, and given the same professional standard the industry expects.

  • Best beginner acting class Toronto — Saturdays, downtown
  • Learn to act for film and TV — not just theatre
  • 200+ five-star Google reviews — Toronto's most trusted studio

EVERYTHING YOU NEED
TO KNOW BEFORE YOU START

Do I need acting experience to join the Intro class?
No experience is required. The Intro to On-Camera Acting class is designed specifically for complete beginners and people new to on-camera acting. You will be guided step-by-step through the fundamentals. If you have prior training, message the studio for placement — you may be better placed in the Next Level or Intermediate class.
Do I have to memorize scripts? What if I get overwhelmed?
You do not need to memorize anything before your first day. While you will work on real scenes, we teach you exactly how to memorize your lines naturally without feeling overwhelmed. We provide all scripts in the room and break them down step-by-step using the Alza Method so you feel completely confident on camera.
Can I get copies of my on-camera scene footage?
Yes. To help you safely track your progress, review your eyelines, and visually identify your growth, high-definition digital file copies of your on-camera scene clips are made available to students at the end of the course at our additional cost. Speak with the studio administrator during your session to arrange digital clip delivery.
When does the Intro class run, and how much does it cost?
The class runs on Saturdays from 11:00am to 2:00pm for 4 consecutive weeks. The cost is $299 + HST. Visit the schedule page for the current start date. Enrollment is not guaranteed until payment is received — spots typically have 1 remaining.
Will I actually get on camera in the first class?
Yes. You are on camera from day one. All sessions are filmed on a multi-camera HD setup and reviewed on a large screen. This is how you actually improve — by seeing what the camera sees, not just by performing and hoping for the best.

IF YOU'VE BEEN
THINKING ABOUT IT —
