Our private coaching is designed to develop the actor's engine: the craft, responsiveness and confidence you bring to each performance.
Before You Book
Can I take private acting lessons with no experience?
Yes. Private coaching is available for absolute beginners as well as experienced actors. Tell us your current level and what you want to work on so we can help you choose an appropriate starting point.
Can I learn acting online if I live far from Toronto?
Yes. Live private acting coaching via Zoom lets you work with an Alza coach from home across Canada and internationally. Appointments depend on coach availability and time zone compatibility.
What happens in a private acting lesson?
You work directly with a coach on an agreed focus: a scene, monologue, character, cold read, audition material or acting skill. Your coach guides your practice and gives feedback during the session.
Can I prepare an audition or get feedback on a recorded self-tape?
Our faculty can help you prepare audition material and self-tapes. Reviewing an already recorded performance is a separate service. Email us before booking if you want a critique of an existing recording so we can direct you to the appropriate option.
Can I book private coaching directly with Walter Alza?
Walter's private coaching is limited and subject to availability. Coaching with Alza Acting Studio faculty is also available. Contact us for guidance on the coach and service that fit your goals.
What do I need for an online private lesson?
Prepare a quiet space, reliable internet and a device with a working camera and microphone. Position the camera so your coach can see you clearly, and confirm any required material or preparation before your appointment.
